Jayvees squeak out 5-4 win over Swainsboro


Jeff Davis High’s jayvee baseball team squeaked out a 5-4 win over Swainsboro last Wednesday in Swainsboro.
Noah Brantley got the game-winning RBI in the top of the seventh inning.
Brayden Lolley had a single and a double to lead JD at the plate. Brantley had a pair of singles and two RBI, Reese Mullis doubled and drove in two runs, Mason Ragland doubled, and Andrew Hulett and Malachi Smith added singles.
Dawson Moser was the winning pitcher in relief. He went two innings, blanking Swainsboro on one hit, no walks and one strikeout. Zack Hulett pitched 3 2/3 inning, giving up four runs on four hits, walking six and striking out four. Brantley pitched 1 1/3 innings, giving up one run on three hits, walking one and striking out none.
