Jayvees split with Ware

Jeff Davis High’s Jayvee baseball team split a pair of games with Ware County last week falling 7-5 in Hazlehurst and winning 8-2 in Waycross.
In the first game, Ethan Baltazar had a pair of singles and an RBI, Noah Brantley had a double and an RBI, and karter Gabreath had a single and two RBI.
Mason Ragland took the loss on the mound. He pitched two innings, giving up one earned run on one hit, walking one and fanning one. Zack Hulett pitched five innings, giving up one earned run on three hits, walking one and striking out 10.
In the second game, played in Waycross, four players had multiple hits.
Hulett and Malachi Smith both had a pair of singles and two RBI, Jude Worthington had two singles and an RBI, and Brantley had two singles. Andrew White doubled, and Brayden Lolley had a single and two RBI.
Dawson Moser was the winning pitcher. He went four innings, giving up two runs on five hits, walking none and striking out four. White pitched one inning, striking out all three batters he faced. Karter Galbreath pitched two innings, blanking Ware on one hit, no walks and two strikeouts.
