Ms. Betty Rowland Wigley, 87

Ms. Betty Rowland Wigley, 87, of Hazlehurst, passed away at her residence Jan. 29 under the care of the sweet nurses of Coastal Hospice and private nurse, Sally Roussell.
Ms. Wigley was born Dec. 1, 1936, in Jeff Davis County.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Waldon Daniel Rowland and Bethel Grimsley Rowland, her husband, Dwight Wigley and sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy (Raymond) Yawn.
In her younger days she operated a house cleaning business and worked in a bakery, later years she retired and enjoyed life. She was a member of Hazlehurst Church of God, and served as the secretary for her Sanctuary Sunday School Class for many years.
Ms. Betty had a sweet disposition and a sweet smile that would light up a room, and she gave the best hugs. She was a faithful friend, a loving compassionate lady and would offer a hand whenever needed.
She loved her family, and she will truly be missed.
Survivors include daughters, Pam Towns (Daniel) of Hazlehurst and Charlotte Colson of Hazlehurst; sons, Ricky Davis, and Rocky Davis, both of Hazlehurst; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her best friend, Dorothy Jean Hare; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Feb. 1 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph Horne officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
The Rev. Jeffery Spell will provide the music.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Sanctuary Sunday School Class of Hazlehurst Church of God.
The family may be contacted at the residence of her daughter, Pam Towns, 11 Ricky Avenue, Hazlehurst.
