Mrs. Imogene Jackson, 71

Mrs. Imogene Jackson, 71, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends.
Mrs. Imogene was born in Collins to the late Mr. John Lee Jackson and Ms. Laura M. Moore Jackson. She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her friends and family. She also loved reading her bible and was a great cook. She enjoyed drinking coffee and fishing. But most of all she loved the Lord and her children.
Survivors include sons, Preston Thornton of Hazlehurst, Dewitt Thornton of Hazlehurst, Jason Thornton of Lumber City; daughters, Laronda Carter of Hazlehurst, Stephanie Thompson of Pigeon Forge, Tenn., Angie Dubberly of Hazlehurst; sister, Margaret Bohannon of Hazlehurst; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and her fur baby Gracie.
Services were held Jan. 27 at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Thomas Colter officiating. Interment followed at Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jason Thornton, Randy Carter, Logan Breedlove, Blake Thompson, Gavin Jones, Lee Chavis and Olin Thornton.
