Lady Jackets Drop 3

Jeff Davis High’s girls basketball team dropped a trio of games over the last week to fall to 3-19 overall and 1-8 in Region 1-AA.
The Lady Jackets fell 67-28 to Worth County in Sylvester, 61-22 to Dodge County in Eastman and lost to Worth in a rematch Friday in Hazlehurst, 48-23.
Latrice Shivers led the Lady Jacket scoring in the first game against Worth with 9 points. Janae Cornish made good on 5 free throws, Ayanna Sam scored four, Beautiful Thomas hit a 3-pt. shot,
Destiny Ivory, Claire Stinson and Alera Vann each had 2 points, and Brylee Wyatt added a free throw.
Za’Liah Howard topped Worth with 16 points and Jarian Williams had 11.
In Eastman, the Lady Indians raced out to a 41-11 halftime lead and coasted to the easy win.
Shivers again led the JD scoring with 6, Ivory had 4, Cornish 5, Thomas and Markiya Durden both had 3-pt. shots, and Sam hit a free two.
Lyric Green led Dodge with 29 points.
Worth led 26-10 at intermission and rolled to the win,
Shivers and Thomas had 5 each, Ivory and Sam 4 each, Stinson 2 and Vann one.
Jarian Williams paced Worth with 14.
