Mr. Robert Marshall Bryant Sr., 68

Mr. Robert Marshall Bryant Sr., 68, of Mt. Vernon, died Oct. 25 at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin after a brief illness.
He was born in Atlanta and lived in St. Pete, Fla., for many years before moving to Mt. Vernon in 1992. He was a trucker for 50 years and a veteran of the United States Navy. Robert was Baptist by faith and a member of Bear Creek Baptist Church. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, but most of all, he was a loving father and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his parents, Melton Robert and Nell Cooper, and a brother, Stanley Cooper.
Robert is survived by sons, Robert Bryant Jr. and wife Amberly of Newnan, and Bradley Bryant of McRae-Helena; daughter, Cassie Bryant of Vidalia; brother, Wayne Cooper and wife Tina of Mt. Vernon; sister, Sheila Cooper of Uvalda; grandchildren, Bradley Austin Bryant, and Annabelle Bryant; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held Oct. 31 in the chapel of Wilkes Funeral Home with Pastor Owen Waters officiating.
