Ms. Ruby Taylor Pickren, 82

Ms. Ruby Taylor Pickren, 82, of Hazlehurst, died Oct. 11 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Jesup.
Ms. Pickren was born April 16, 1941 in Bacon County.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ledley Taylor and Ruby Dubberly Taylor, husband, George Dewey Pickren, daughter, Cynthia Ann Pruitt and son, Van Pickren.
She was an amazing cook. She loved to read and collect cookbooks. She was and avid gardener, her family said she had a green thumb. She was a member of Amazing Grace Baptist Church. She was a friendly loving person who never met a stranger and she will be sadly missed by all.
Survivors include her son, Wade Pickren of Hazlehurst; sister, Wildaree Lewis of Alma; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Oct. 17 at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Ronnie Wilcox and the Rev. Jinker Horton officiating.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
