Mrs. Sharon Hand

Mrs. Sharon Hand of Riverwind Subdivision, located in Etowah, N.C., passed from this world to another destination, which our Christian religion teaches is a place of eternal bliss and happiness, on Oct. 16. She was born and raised in Jeff Davis County. Her parents were Eddie Trowell and Gertrude Trowell of Jeff Davis County.
Sharon was the wife of Donald L. Hand and the mother of Karen Elaine Hand Bennett, Donald “Don” L. Hand Jr., Jenny Lynn Hand Santana and Robert “Rob” Edward Hand. She was said to be gracious, kind, sweet and loving, even by those who knew her only casually. Her presence, grace and dignity will be missed.
Sharon graduated from Jeff Davis High School in 1954. She lived 18 months in Honolulu, Hawaii, with her husband who was stationed there with the United States Coast Guard.  Sharon and Donald traveled extensively, having visited all the United States except the New England states. They were blessed to be united in Holy matrimony for 67-plus years.  It is fair to say that those years were blessed by the Lord.
Sharon’s funeral will be at Forrest Lawn Funeral Home on Oct. 28 at 11 with visitation at 10.
