Mr. Vernon Marlton Treat, 73

Miles Funeral Home in Hazlehurst announces the funeral for Mr. Vernon Marlton Treat, 73, who passed away Sept. 18 at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla.
Mr. Treat was born in Sanford, Fla. He was the son of the late Pearl and Clayton Treat.  He was also preceded in death by his wife Dorothy from a previous marriage and a daughter Tammy Treat.
He is survived by his daughters Alma, Veronica (Justin), Lisa (Sammy), and Tonia; sisters and brother; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews; his estranged wife Janice Treat; and close family friends.
He dedicated his life to his daughter, Alma’s care. He was a Godly man, he would always drag us girls to church. He made sure we knew who God was. He always had a way of giving spiritual encouragement. He loved to go fishing and that is all he ever talked about was going fishing and hunting with the grandchildren.
The service was Friday at The House of Grace in Hazlehurst with the Rev. Thomas Colter.  Interment was in Hazlehurst City Cemetery.
