Mr. Junior ‘Bobby’ Blanton, 83

Junior “Bobby” Blanton, 83, of Jesup died Oct 4. The Wayne County native and 23-year Hazlehurst resident was a member of Lighthouse Christian Fellowship. He was the owner of Blanton Barber and Style Shop. His motto was “We need your head in our business” and served Wayne and Jeff Davis counties. Bobby loved mechanical work, gardening and visiting relatives and friends. His parents, Bill and Luease Fulton Blanton preceded him in death along with siblings, Lloyd and Barbara Jones.
Survivors are his wife of 22 years, Ruby Miller Blanton of Hazlehurst; sons, Jeff (Liza) Blanton of Jesup, Ken Blanton and Timothy Blanton, both of Hinesville; stepson, John Clark of Young Harris; sister, Tera (Eddie) Privett of Newnan; brother, Robert (Suzette) Blanton of McComb, Miss.i; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Oct. 8 at New Hope Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Tyrone Hutchinson officiating. Interment was in New Hope Cemetery. Active pallbearers were his family.
Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup was in charge.
