Mr. Charlton Shane Waldon, 53

Mr. Charlton Shane Waldon, 53, of Lizella, passed away Oct. 15. A celebration of his life will be announced later.
Shane was born Sept. 22, 1970, in Hazlehurst to Charles and the late Gwen Powell. He had a lifelong love of aviation and he turned it into a profession. After graduating from Central Georgia Technical College, he pursued his associate degree from Georgia Military College where he graduated with honors as valedictorian. He went on to get his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees both with a 4.0 GPA from Embory Riddle Technical College. Shane started his career as a technical instructor and worked his way up as a department head, division head, and eventually as an associate Dean.
Shane is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Diana Davies Waldon; father, Charles Powell; sisters, Sonja and Sabrina; brother, Bradley; aunt, Lillian Pace Dixon; and cousins, Wayne, Renee, Ramona, and Michelle.
