Cross Country Competes In Run The Plank

The Jeff Davis High cross country teams traveled to Brunswick to compete in the 6th Annual Run the Plank hosted by Brunswick High on the campus of the College of Coastal Georgia.  The race had competitors from 15 coastal schools in attendance.

This was the first time the teams competed in this event so they arrived early to preview the course layout before the event started. The rains on Wednesday and Thursday left the course in a less than desirable condition as portions of the course were under water and other portions would turn muddy during the race.

Despite the cooler weather and the course conditions both the boys and girls teams had solid performances. The boys finished 2nd, while the girls team finished 3rd.

Pierce Parlor led the boys with a time of 18:55.41 over the 5K course to finish 5th. Ellie Kate Marchant paced the girls with a 10th place finish with a time of 23:12.06.
