Lady Jackets swinging bats well

Fourteen games into the 2023 Jeff Davis High School softball season, nine Lady Jackets are batting over .300, led by senior Jaci Underwood with a .467 average.

The Lady Jackets have 10 homers led by Underwood, freshman Ava Bohannon and sophomore Claire Stinson with three each. Sophomore Carrie Ellen Arnold has the other round-tripper.

Stinson leads in RBIs with 17, Underwood has 15, and Bohannon and Arnold have 11 each.

Arnold leads the pitching with an 8-3 record, a 1.800 ERA and 61 strikeouts. Freshman Jaqueline Villasenor is 3-0, with a 1.989 ERA and 33 strikeouts.

The Lady Jackets have a solid defense as well. Senior left fielder Laisha Hernandez has not committed an error thus far in the season.
