Bloodworth Is Running For Mayor

John M. Bloodworth, who currently serves on the Hazlehurst City Council representing Ward 4, has formally announced his candidacy for mayor of the City of Hazlehurst.
Bloodworth, the son of Clint and Jeanette Bloodworth, is the paternal grandson of J.W. and Sarah Bloodworth and his maternal grandparents were Paul J. and Gladys McDonald. His siblings are Jim, Jeff and Paula Bloodworth. He and his wife, Jill Johnson Bloodworth, faithfully attend Wolf Pit Church in Bacon County.
In making his announcement, Bloodworth offers this message, “The City of Hazlehurst is in dire need of a mayor of vision, a mayor for all citizens. I am a strong believer in small government and that the will of the people rules.”
He also states, “Our beloved city is in shambles. It has been in decline for some time now, and it’s time to clean-up our town.”
As mayor, Bloodworth also plans to work more closely with the Jeff Davis County Board of Commissioners, adding, “It’s time to become neighborly with our friends in county government. I strongly believe in working together for the common good. With my understanding of organizational psychology, the city’s resources can be managed much better and more efficiently. Greater negotiations can be made to ensure a better working relationship with our county government.”
He states of his background, “I am a businessman who specializes in professional services, and I am also a mediator with the Georgia Supreme Court’s Office of Dispute Resolution. My education, training and experience will enable me to forge a stronger relationship with other forms of government in our city.”
Bloodworth notes among the items that he will tackle are getting the city streets in better condition, replacing faded street signs, cleaning up curbing and sidewalks that are overgrown with grass, and improving clutter and maintenance in downtown parking areas.
He adds that Hazlehurst and Jeff Davis County have an excellent school system full of children with innate talents and abilities, also noting, “They are our tomorrow’s future. Let us give them hope in the time to come.”
Bloodworth ends his announcement with positivity, saying, “Hazlehurst is in need of leadership, good stewardship, honest transparency and a safer and cleaner environment. When citizens are in need, it is their government’s obligation to help them. I love this city and our people. My desire is to help and see them succeed as well as work toward our city’s success. There is no problem that cannot be solved. I truly will be a forward-thinking mayor of vision and one you can trust and depend upon. I give you my word on it. Please join me in these endeavors as you vote for and elect John M. Bloodworth as mayor of Hazlehurst.”
