Riddle Is New Pastor
Hazlehurst First Methodist Church has a new pastor, says E.M. Wilkes, chair of the staff parish relations committee.
The Rev. Steven Riddle preached his first sermon at HFMC this past Sunday.
Steven was pastor of County Line UMC in Acworth the past five years and in ministry as a pastor for 22 years.
A native of Palatka, Fla., he began working as a teenager in the family retail businesses of office supplies and gift shop.
For six years he was a house parent and maintenance man at Florida Methodist Children’s Home.
Steven has been a volunteer firefighter/EMT for 15 years.
His higher education includes a bachelor’s degree in theology and Christian counseling.
Rev. Riddle completed his United Methodist Course of Study at Candler School of Theology at Emory University and was recently approved as an Elder in the Global Methodist Church.
His wife Jeannene is an English teacher at Toombs Middle School.
The couple have two daughters, Holly who lives in Pearson and 19-year-old Jaime who lives with them. They have two grands, 14-year-old Georgia and 3-year-old Jackson.
His hobbies are reading and woodworking.
