Nine hurt in accident

The Jeff Davis Emergency Medical Service transferred nine people to Jeff Davis Hospital who were injured in a 2-vehicle accident last Wednesday near the entrance to Wal-Mart on Jarman Street in Hazlehurst.
According to a Georgia State Patrol motor vehicle crash report, Sheila Teresa Bush of Hazlehurst was driving a 2015 Dodge Journey west on Ga. 27 (Jarman Street/Baxley Highway), with six young children in her vehicle, when she attempted to turn left into the Wal-Mart parking lot.
Samuel Alvin Hutto of Eatonton was driving a 2018 Ford F-150 towing a camper traveling east on Ga. 27.
The GSP report said Ms. Bush failed to yield the right-of-way and turned into the path of Hutto’s vehicle and they collided in the roadway. Both vehicles rotated after the crash with Hutto’s truck and camper going off the road facing west and Hutto’s vehicle facing southeast.
State Patrol investigators were able to verify much of the accident information using security camera video footage from the Murphy’s gas station located near the accident scene.
Reported injured in the accident and transferred to Jeff Davis Hospital were:
Drivers Sheila Bush, 59, and David Hutto, 50, Bush’s passengers Franklin Watson, Kye Meeks, Kayleigh Watson, Eastyn Hutcheson, Austin Watson and Kenneth Watson, all juveniles, and Callie Hutto, 49, a passenger in Hutto’s vehicle.
