Boys in Final 8, Girls in Final 4

Jeff Davis High school varsity guys hosted Vidalia April 24th for the second round of the state playoffs. The Jacket guys defeated the Indians 4-1 and are now in the Elite Eight.
Coaches Alan Mims and Mary Katherine Brown both agree the guys are playing really well. They are on fire, and they play smart at all seven positions.
The Yellow Jacket boys faced off against Mt. Paran Christian School in Kennesaw Monday for the quarterfinal round of state.
Other teams remaining in the hunt for the Class AA boys state championship are Athens Academy, Brantley County, Model, Appling County and Fellowship Christian School of Roswell.
The Yellow Jacket Girls played April 28 against Mt. Paran Christian School. The Lady Jackets defeated Mt. Paran, winning 3-1 with the last match being pulled after the Jacket win.
The ladies are now in the Final Four in state competition. Coach Mims and Brown agree these ladies have worked hard to pull out these close wins. The girls are extremely confident playing at these higher levels against really good teams.
The ladies will face the winner of Athens Academy and Brantley County at home before May 8 for the semi-final round of state.
Other teams remaining in the playoffs are Pierce County, Fellowship Christian, Berrien and Model.
