Tennis teams fall to Valdosta High
The varsity Yellow Jacket tennis team traveled to Valdosta High March 30.
Both teams lost 0-5 to the Wildcats, but both played close matches against the Cats.
Cori Mims, playing the number 2 singles spot for the Lady Jackets, lost a close match 6-7 (4-7 tiebreaker) and 6-7 (5-7 tiebreaker).
Noel Munoz and Presley Cox played first doubles for the Jackets and also lost in a tiebreaker (6-3, 4-6, and 8-10).
Coach Mary Katherine Brown bragged on the play of Briona Herrington stating she gave it her all every point.
Amarri Jackson, Caleb Beach, Cain Johnson, and Alan Lopez played doubles for the Jackets. Coach Brown said, “Our boys doubles have really shaped up this year. They are tough contenders no matter who they play, and they have a darn good time doing it. It is fun watching them play.”
