Sheriff’s department captures man who jumped bail

On March 16, the Jeff Davis Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested a man who skipped bond stemming from charges in Americus in 2019.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation Region 3 requested assistance in the location and arrest of this wanted individual. Jacory Devontae Peters, 20, of Pine Street, Americus was arrested in 2019 and charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during commission of a felony for the July 30 armed robbery of Flash Foods on Crawford Street, Americus.
Jeff Davis Sheriff’s Investigators were able to locate Peters working at the solar panel construction site. Investigators devised a plan to approach Peters without suspicion. Acting as “solar construction employees,” investigators were able to lure Peters to a secure location where he was suddenly apprehended without incident. Peters was transported to the Jeff Davis County Jail and later transported to Americus where he awaits court.
