JV Gold falls to Coffee

Jeff Davis High’s Jayvee Gold baseball team suffered its first loss of the season Monday in Douglas as they fell 13-3 in five innings to Coffee County.
The Jackets got all of their runs in the second inning as pinch runner Jonathan Bohannon scored on a passed ball and Mason Ragland scored on a Dawson Moser ground out. Later in the inning, JT Bryant singled, stole second, went to third on a wild pitch and came home on a balk.
JD had only three hits, a double by Reese Mullis and singles by Bryant and Jude Worthington.
Moser took the loss. He went two innings, giving up eight earned runs on seven hits, three walks, a hit batter and two strikeouts. Mullis threw two innings, giving up one earned run on one hit, a walk, two hit batters and three strikeouts. Haydon King pitched the final inning, yielding two runs on one hit, two walks and two hit batters.
