JDMS Gold defeats Wheeler

Scorekeepers were kept busy during a high-scoring contest Thursday between Jeff Davis Middle School Gold and Wheeler County with Jeff Davis prevailing 14-10.
Jeff Davis got on the board in the first inning. Kallan Medders doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.
Gold put up eight runs in the fifth with a lead off walk by David Calderon, a single by Medders, an error, and a double by Zane Chaney.
Wheeler scored five runs in the fifth inning.
Kolton Powell led Jeff Davis to victory on the hill. The righthander allowed one hit and one run over one and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking zero. Henry Richardson threw one and one-third innings in relief.
Chaney started the game for Jeff Davis. The righty allowed one hit and four runs over three innings, striking out six
Jeff Davis Middle School Gold tallied six hits in the game. Chaney and Medders all collected multiple hits.
