Beach’s grand slam keys victory

Colby Beach’s grand slam home run in the sixth inning keyed the Jeff Davis Junior Varsity Gold team to a 10-4 victory over Bleckley County Monday in Cochran.
With JD leading 6-4 going into the top of the sixth, Karter Galbreath, Andrew White and Reese Mullis were hit by pitches to load the bases with two outs. Beach then stepped to the plate and hit a 1-1 pitch over the left field fence for his grand slam and a 10-4 lead.
Jonathan Bohannon earned the win for Jeff Davis. He lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing four hits and two earned runs while striking out five and walking two. Dawson Moser threw two and a third innings in relief, giving up one hit and striking out two.
Mullis, Haydon King, Jude Worthington, Bohannon, and Beach each collected one hit.
