Jeff Davis hosts region cross country

The Jeff Davis High School Cross Country teams hosted the Region 1AA Cross Country Championships last Wednesday.
Both the boys and the girls teams came away with Region Titles. And Lady Jacket Alex Uribe won the girls individual championship while Kevin Vega captured the boys individual title
The girls have now won seven region titles in a row, while the boys team has won three straight titles.
Both teams will compete at the State Championship Nov. 4 in Carrollton.

For the boys
In 13th place Jovanni Barragan with a time of 19:27.
In 12th place Joseluis Mendoza with a time of 19:20.
In 10th place DJ Ryals with a time of 19:15.
In 5th place Gael Valora with a time of 18:21.
In 4th place Josue Avila with a time of 18:17.
In 3rd place Pierce Parlor with a time of 18:16.
and your Region Champion Kevin Vega with a time of 17:35.
Vega, Parlor, Avila, and Valora also made the All-Region Team.
For the girls
In 12th place Ali Lewis with a time of 24:34.
In 11th place Rebecca Lopez with a time of 24:26.
In 10th place Joselyn Avila with a time of 24:25.
In 9th place Lily Relihan with a time of 24:04.
In 8th place Flor Rangel with a time of 23:27.
In 2nd place Ellie Kate Marchant with a time of 22:21.
and your Region Champion Alex Uribe with a time of 22:16.
Uribe and Marchant were also named to the All-Region Team.
