The Jeff Davis County Superior Court unsealed several indictments leading to the arrest of several individuals involved in conspiracy, possessing dangerous drugs and firearms violations. Leading up to the operation, drug investigators concentrated on drug patrol in Jeff Davis County and discovered some unsuspecting suspects.
On Dec. 6, the Jeff Davis Sheriff’s K9 initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation. Canine Zeta detected the odor of narcotics. When speaking to the driver, a bag of suspected cocaine fell out of his hat. The contraband was retrieved and a search of the vehicle was conducted and drug paraphernalia was discovered. Skylar Howell was arrested on drug charges.
On Dec. 9, the Georgia State Patrol initiated a traffic stop and requested the assistance from the Jeff Davis Sheriff’s Drug Investigators. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a several ecstasy tablets and a Glock handgun. Jason Young was arrested and charged.
On Dec. 9, the Sheriff’s Drug investigators K9 initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation. Upon speaking with the occupants, it was learned that controlled substances were in the vehicle. A search revealed that two of the three occupants were in possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia.
On Dec. 13, the Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the Jeff Davis K9 arrested four individuals for drug possession and firearms violations. During a traffic stop, officers learned a firearm was in the vehicle and removed the occupants. A s gun and quantities of methamphetamines were discovered.
On Dec. 14, the Sheriffs Office conducted Operation Deck the Halls. The purpose of this sting was to concentrate on dangerous drugs on the street level. There are different levels of the drug trade… the street level, middle level and upper level, the source. Law enforcement investigates every aspect of it, everyone in the drug trade needs to be held accountable. These dangerous drugs are ripping families apart and destroying lives. As officers descended on these wanted individuals, they encountered other fugitives with outstanding warrants and one other who was found with suspected methamphetamine on his person.

-Skylar Howell, 24, Hazlehurst, Possession of cocaine.
-Colen Dean White, 57, Hazlehurst, Possession of methamphetamine.
-James Terrell Anderson, 53, Hazlehurst, Possession of methamphetamine.
-Demario Slocum, 35, Hazlehurst, Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
-Lindsey Miller, 22, Hazlehurst, Possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug related objects.
-Austin Hand, 19, Hazlehurst, Possession of methamphetamine.
-Michael Alan Roberson, 31, Hazlehurst, Conspiracy to commit-furnishing prohibited items to inmates, use of telecommunication device.
-Melanie Herrington, 58, Hazlehurst, Conspiracy to commit-furnishing prohibited items to inmates, use of telecommunication device, probation violations, active probation warrants from Baxley.
-Rodney Taylor, 54, Hazlehurst, Conspiracy to commit-furnishing prohibited items to inmates, use of telecommunication device, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug related objects.
-Kayla Carelock, 31, Hazlehurst, Conspiracy to commit-furnishing prohibited items to inmates, use of telecommunication device.

-Daniel James Martinez, 31, Hazlehurst, Possession of methamphetamine.
-Lauren Woracheck, 28, Hazlehurst, Possession of marijuana (felony).
-Dasica McCoy, 31, Hazlehurst, Conspiracy to commit a crime.

-Kevin Herrington, 43, Hazlehurst, Failure to register as sex offender.
-Dustin Roddenberry, 25, Hazlehurst, Possession of a controlled III substance, drugs not in original container, probation violation.
-Cody Bass, 21, Hazlehurst, Probation Violation.
-Patrick Knox, 50, Hazlehurst, Probation violation.
