JDMS wins two

Jeff Davis Middle School’s softball team opened the season with a pair of wins, downing East Laurens Aug. 8 at East Laurens 9-4 and blowing out Dublin Monday in Hazlehurst 12-0 in four innings.
Against East Laurens, M. Walsh had two singles, a homer and two RBI, A. Bohannon had two singles and two RBI, K. King had a single, a sacrifice and an RBI, J. Villasenor and M. Joyce both had a single and an RBI, and J. Villasenor and R. Hughes both singled.
J. Villasenor went the distance on the mound, giving up four hits, walking four, hitting one and striking out nine.
Against Dublin, A. Bohannon had a single, a homer and two RBI, B. Wyatt doubled in a run, R. Hughes and K. King both had a single and an RBI, and M. Joyce singled.
J. Villasenor blanked East Laurens on two hits, no walks and nine strikeouts in just four innings.
