Jayvee Girls Off To 3-0 Start

The JV girls soccer team is undefeated through the first three games of the season. The Lady Jackets have outscored their opponents 15-3 in that stretch, while holding Toombs County JV to two shutouts.
In the first game at Dodge County, the Lady Jackets got out to a slow start but once on the board the goals kept coming. In the first half Valeria Valencia got the scoring started, followed by goals by Delilah Spencer, Rebecca Lopez, and Ruby Perez all in the first half. Dodge County managed to score a goal before half making it a 4-1 Jeff Davis advantage at halftime.
Delilah Spencer scored two more goals in the second half for the hat trick (3 goals). Valencia added a second goal, before the Yellow Jacket squad conceded a second goal to the Lady Indians on a penalty kick. Jasmin Gonzalez scored the eighth and final goal and Dodge County closed out the scoring with 10 minutes remaining in the second half for a 8-3 final.
Five days later, the squad travel to Lyons to play region foe Toombs County. Delilah Spencer scored the lone goal in the first half as the Lady Jackets took a 1-0 advantage into halftime.
Valencia Valencia scored three goals in the first 10 minutes of the second half for the 4-0 advantage. The Toombs squad had an opportunity to put a point on the board on a penalty kick midway through the half but the shot soared wide right. Spencer also took a penalty kick for the Lady Jackets late in the second half but did not convert. The final was 4-0.
After 10 days off, the squad was back in action at home against Toombs County. The outcome was much the same as the Lady Jackets dominated the game to a 3-0 decision. The JV squad held possession of the ball much of the 1st half but only came away with a lone goal scored by Rebeca Lopez. Lexi Toledo added a second goal 10 minutes into the second half as the Lady Jackets continued to dominate possession of the ball. Lopez added a second goal with eight minutes remaining to bring the scoring to a 3-0 final.
The JV squad was back in action Monday against Wayne County in a home match.
