A Busy Week Of Sports

This week is a busy one for Jeff Davis County sports programs, both high school and middle school.
Here’s a look at the week’s activities:
Monday, the JDMS Blue baseball team hosted Dublin at 4 p.m.
Tuesday, Jeff Davis varsity baseball opened its regular season with a home game against Bleckley County, the JDMS Gold baseball team played Wheeler County in Alamo, the high school soccer teams played East Laurens on the road, the high school tennis teams hosted Appling County and the high school girls team played Bacon County in the Region 2-AA tournament while the boys played East Laurens.
Thursday, the JDMS Blue baseball team travels to East Dublin to play East Laurens, the high school tennis teams travel to Waycross to take on Ware County, the JDHS girls basketball team, if they were victorious over Bacon Tuesday, play Swainsboro on the road at 7 p.m. and the boys team, if victorious over East Laurens on Tuesday, play Vidalia.
Friday, Jeff Davis varsity baseball hosts Wayne County at 6 p.m., the JDMS Gold baseball team hosts Wayne County, the high school soccer teams host Appling County at 5 p.m., the Region 2-AA girls basketball championship and consolation games will be at 7 and 4 p.m. and the Region 2-AA boys basketball championship and consolation games will be at 8:30 and 5:30.
Saturday, Jeff Davis varsity baseball plays Lee County at 2 p.m. in Hazlehurst, after Wayne County and Lee County face off at 11 a.m., the JDMS Gold baseball team plays Toombs County at 9 a.m. in Hazlehurst and Ware County at 11 a.m. in Hazlehurst.
