Mr. Bobby Joe Chieves, 71

Graveside services for Mr. Bobby Joe Chieves, who died June 29 at his residence in Miami, Fla., were held July 30 at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Lumber City, with Pastor Andrew Lilley presiding and Bishop William Hollis giving the eulogy.
Mr. Chieves was born Nov. 14, 1949, to the late Willie Avery and Lillie Mae Pace Chieves in Lumber City. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Angie Chieves; grand Kiynen Chieves; brothers Johnny, Marvin, James, Frankie, Theartis Chieves; and sisters, Evangelist Marie McCowan and Evangelist Ophelia Plummer.
He attended the Lumber City School System. Later, he made his home in Miami, He was a hard-working man. He retired after being employed by The City of Miami for many years.
He enjoyed and loved his family, but most of all he loved the Lord. He enjoyed great singing and preaching. When he came home, he always remembered his family church “Love Temple.” He loved to paint in his spare time. God blessed him to paint his brother’s house and to repaint “Love Temple.”
Survivors include sons Kenneth Chieves of Louisiana and Mark Daniels of Hollywood, Fla.; grandchildren Kenneth Jr., Keneasha, Demetrius, Houser, Kendra Antione; sisters Rosa Mae Tobler of Lumber City and Annie Lee Young of Atlanta; sister-in-law Jinnie Mae Chieves of Lumber City; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and his loving companion, the late Lucy Johnson of Miami, Fla.
Active pallbearers were nephews.
King Brothers Funeral Home & Cremation Services was in charge.

    I worked with Bobby for 8 years and stayed in touch after he retired from the Town of Bay Harbor Islands, FL. He was a lovely man and the world will miss his presence. God bless you, Bobby. May you rest well in the hands of our Lord.
