Soccer boys win 10-0

Player of the Week Justin Aguirre

Jeff Davis High’s boys varsity soccer team hosted Bryan County Indians Friday.
The team looked calm, collected, and extremely well organized throughout the game. The boys took a well deserved win with the score of 10-0.
The game opener came in the 7th minute with Pablo Tapia scoring from a great pass by Kevin Cervantes. It did not take long for the jackets to quickly double the lead with a great shot from Justin Aguirre after a few rebounds. This would not be his only goal of the night.
Darian Cortez would add his name to the tally with the 3rd goal of the game in the 13th minute. Pablo Tapia would increase his goal tally to two by scoring in the 15th minute. This had the Jackets up 4-0.
During the 17th minute, Jackets were awarded a free kick that would see Ivan Franco score an exceptional goal from almost half field. Justin Aguirre would put the jackets up 6-0 with a great ground shot that would get past the keeper but he was not done yet. Justin would complete his hat trick with a goal in the 32nd minute with a great turn and shoot movement. As the game went on, the Jackets continued to play phenomenal futbol. Oscar Marquez would demonstrate this by scoring a screamer from outside the 18. The ball would zoom into the upper 90 leaving the keeper with no chance of doing anything. Fernando Vegawould finish off the night for the Jackets by scoring in the 39th and 49th minute from two solo runs.
The boys Jackets played an outstanding game. The Jackets host Portal in a JV game at 6 Thursday and varsity game and 7 versus Fitzgerald.
Player of the Week was Justin Aguirre with a hat trick vs Bryan County. Also, he is the leading goal scorer for the Jackets with six goals.
