Yellow Jackets Named To All Region Team

Jeff Davis High’s 9-2 2020 football team garnered a host of Region 2-AA awards for players’ performances during the season.
Topping the list was senior placekicker Audiel Placencia who was named the Region 2-AA Special Teams Player of the Year.
Named to the All Region First Team Offense were senior quarterback Cade Walters, junior running back Aahiyus Allen, junior offensive lineman Nate Lewis and senior offensive lineman Andrew Aycock.
Named to the All Region First Team Defense were senior defensive end James Wood, senior defensive lineman Charles Stegall, senior linebacker Austin Wood and senior defensive back Willie Skipper.
All Region Second Team Offense selectees were junior wide receiver C.J. Parker and junior tight end Matthew Glass.
Seven players earned All Region Honorable Mention.
On offense they were junior wide receiver Michael Dotson, junior offensive lineman Conner McLoon and senior offensive lineman Chasten Googe.
On defense they were junior lineman Miyon Connoway, sophomore linebacker Landon Roberson, freshman linebacker Carter Mullis and sophomore defensive back Terrence Clemons.
Nine Yellow Jackets were recognized for their work in the classroom by being named to the Region 2-AA All Academic Team. They were senior quarterback Conner Rea, junior wide receiver Tyson Alls, sophomore linebacker Peyton Laney, junior defensive lineman Dalton Sellers, sophomore linebacker Ethan Griffin, junior running back Aahiyus Allen, sophomore linebacker Landon Roberson, junior tight end Matthew Glass and junior offensive lineman Curtis Morgan.
