XC runs at Hone Ridge
The Jeff Davis Cross Country teams took the long trip to Guyton to Honey Ridge Plantation for the final regular season meet of the year to fine tune their racing before hosting the Region 2-AA Championships next week.
The boys were paced by freshman Pierce Parlor who finished seventh overall, while all five team members that scored finished in the Top 25.
On the girls side Zoie Marchant led the Lady Jackets finishing second overall. The remaining scorers for the girls all finished in the Top 20.
Both the boys and girls outpaced region rivals Vidalia and Toombs. While the JD boys have split several races with Vidalia during the season, this was the first time all season the Lady Jackets have finished higher than the Lady Indians.
The Region 2-AA Championship this week is shaping up to be a good one as the JD and Vidalia squads for both the boys and girls are separated by less than five points.
