Cross Country Teams Run In Cochran

Jeff Davis’s cross country teams competed in the Bleckley County Night Race last Thursday in Cochran.
Competing were Jeff Davis, Bleckley County, Vidalia and West Laurens.
In the boys division, Bleckley County, Vidalia and Jeff Davis were neck-in-neck, finishing 1, 2 and 3 with only 3 points difference between 1st and 3rd places.
Freshman Pierce Parlor led the Yellow Jackets boys with a 2-mile time of 11:24.28.
In the girls division, the strong Bleckley County host team ran away with the event placing seven runners in the top 10.
Junior Zoie Marchant topped the Jeff Davis girls, finishing 5th in a time of 13:24.62.
Eighth grader Gael Valora top the Jeff Davis jayvee boys event finishing second with a time of 12:18.94. Eighth grader Rebeca Lopez topped the JD jayvee girls with a 5th place finish in 15:35.56.
