JDMS Softball Wins 3 of 4

Jeff Davis Middle School’s softball team took an 8-3 win over Dodge County Monday in  Eastman. In previous games, JDMS defeated Bleckley County 10-2 last Tuesday, downed Swainsboro 16-1 Sept. 10 and fell 9-2 to West Laurens Sept. 9.
Against Dodge, Alana McCall and Cori Mims both had a pair of singles and an RBI, Kira Buford doubled, Jazmine Villarreal and Payton Warnock each had a single and an RBI, and Claire Stinson, Ava Bohannon and Carrie Arnold singled.
Jacqueline Villarreal threw three innings, giving up two runs on one hit, walking six and striking out three. Mims pitched four innings, giving up one run on two hits, walking three and striking out four.
Against Bleckley, Alexa Vann had a pair of singles, Ava Bohannon, McCall, Stinson and Jaqueline Villarreal had a single apiece, and Buford drove in a run.
Jaqueline Villarreal went the distance on the mound, giving up two runs on four hits, walking four and striking out 11.
At Swainsboro, McCall had two singles and two RBI, Jazmine Villarreal had a single, a double and two RBI, Vann had two singles, Stinson had a double, a single and an RBI, Bohannon, Mims and King had two singles and an RBI, Jones singled and Clance drove in a run.
McCall pitched a 2-hitter, walking none and striking out five.
Against West Laurens, Stinson was the only Lady Jacket to hit safely. She had a pair of singles and drove in both JDMS runs.
Jazmine Villarreal pitched three innings, giving up eight runs on eight hits, walking one, hitting one and striking out two. Mims threw three innings, giving up one run on two hits, walking one and striking out two.
