JDMS splits games
Jeff Davis Middle School’s softball team opened its season by splitting their first two games, losing to West Laurens 8-6 and blanking Swainsboro 10-0.
Against West Laurens, JD held a 4-3 lead through four innings but West Laruens rallied to win.
A. McCall had a single, C. Mims drove in a run, Stinson singled and drove in a run.
Villasenor pitched the first three innings and McCall threw the final four.
Villasenor gave up three runs on two hits, walked six and struck out four. McCall gave up five runs on five hits, hit a batter, walked one and struck out two.
It took only two at bats for JDMS to top Swainsboro.
K. Buford had a single and two RBI, A. Bohannon doubled and drove in a run, C. Stinson had two singles and an RBI, J. Villasenor had a single and an RBI and P. Warnock singled.
Villasenor pitched. She did not give up a hit, walked one, hit one, and struck out four.
