Mr. Van McLoon Sr., 76

Mr. Van W. McLoon Sr., 76, of Hazlehurst, crossed over Aug. 7 at Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia.
Mr. McLoon was born Nov. 4, 1943, in Jeff Davis County to the late James McLoon and the late Louise Beall McLoon. He was a devoted family man known for his hard work ethic and was also a truck driver. He was a member of Hazlehurst Church of God and was preceded in death by his siblings, Marion McLoon Smith, Jim McLoon and Bill McLoon.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Kathleen (Kat) Boyett McLoon of Hazlehurst; son and daughter-in-law, Van Jr. and Debbie McLoon of Eulonia; daughter and son-in-law, Sonia and Jimmy Music of Douglas; brother, Max McLoon (Gail) of Lumber City; sister, Ann Dixon (Bennett) of Pooler; grandchildren, Adam McLoon, Tommy Wilson Jr., Jacob Music, and Jesse Music; great-granddaughter, Brailee Wilson; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Aug. 9 at Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. John Nunes and Betty Williams officiating.
Honorary pallbearers were all family and friends in attendance.
Active pallbearers were Adam McLoon, Tommy Wilson Jr., Bobby Roberson and Tommy Wilson Sr.
