Mrs. Alice Gibbs Browning, 81

Mrs. Alice Gibbs Browning, 81, of Lumber City, died July 18 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.
Mrs. Browning was born May 2, 1939, in Tattnall County to the late John Gibbs and the late Iona Purvis Gibbs. She was formerly an LPN employed by Memorial Hospital in Vidalia and a member of Lumber City Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Clayton Browning and son, Robbie Lee Browning.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph “Joey” Browning (Angie) of Lumber City and Jeffery Browning (Julia) of Dawsonville; children, Debbie Smith, John Higginbotham, Teresa Lee Higginbotham and Maria Kueber; eight grandchildren; several great and great-great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be announced later.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Georgia Baptist Children’s Home or the Georgia Sheriffs Youth Program.
