Mr. A.J. Lewis Sr., 72

Mr. A.J. Lewis, Sr., 72, of Hazlehurst died July 25 at Appling Healthcare.
Mr. Lewis was born March 2, 1948, in Jeff Davis County to the late Clinton Lewis and the late Geneva Creamer Lewis. He was retired as a welder for over 40 years with Hazlehurst Mills and was a member of Bridgeford Church of God. He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda McLain Lewis and sister, Connie Haynes. He was a doting grandfather who adored and lived for his grandchildren.
Survivors include his sons and saughters-in-law, A.J. Jr. and Lisa Lewis and Waymon and Teresa Lewis all of Hazlehurst; sister, Stella Summerlin of Hazlehurst; brother-in-law, Norman Haynes of Hazlehurst; brother-in-law Randy Sellers and sister-in-law, Agnes Sellers of Baxley; grandchildren, Austin Lewis, Nate Lewis, Ali Lewis, Drew Lewis, Savannah Kate Lewis; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held July 27 at Bridgeford Church of God Cemetery with the Rev. Brad Waters, the Rev. Agnes Sellers and the Rev. Randy Sellers officiating.
Active pallbearers were Austin Lewis, Nate Lewis, Norman Haynes, Will Mosley, Ashton Summerlin and Chandler Davenport.
