Mr. John W. Dykes, 93

Mr. John W. Dykes, 93, of Hazlehurst, died July 9 at his residence.
Mr. Dykes was born Nov. 27, 1926, in Bleckley County to the late James Russell Dykes and the late Nora Lee Bryant. He was a veteran of the United States Army, retired from Amercord and a member of Jeff Davis Masonic Lodge #283. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Mrs. Joyce White Dykes of Hazlehurst; daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Don Rollins of McRae; granddaughter, Heather (Brad) Dixon of McRae; niece, Brenda Lucas of Savannah.
Private graveside services were held July 11 in Palms Memorial Garden with military honors, and with the Rev. Ricky Baldwin and the Rev. Deek Dubberly officiating.
Music was rendered by the Rev. Jeffery Spell.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
