Mr. David Earl Leggett, 81

Mr. David Earl Leggett, 81, of Hazlehurst, died July 7 at Meadows Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Leggett was born May 21, 1939, in Appling County. He was a veteran of the United States Army, was retired from Hazlehurst Housing Authority and a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church.
He was always so happy for the family to be together.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mrs. Lucille Miller Leggett and Mr. Thomas Roscoe Leggett of Baxley, a brother, retired Staff Sgt. Roscoe Laverne Leggett of Athens, Ala.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lawanda Minton Leggett; sons and daughters-in-law, Brad and Angie Leggett of Hazlehurst and Ben and Carmen Leggett of Hazlehurst; grandchildren, Matthew (Melissa) Leggett, Michael Leggett, Logan Leggett and Caleb Leggett; great-grandson, Hunter Leggett; nieces, Yvonne Rentz and Mary Ann (Rev. Dannie) Hix; several cousins.
A private family service was held July 9 in Williamson/McCormick Cemetery with the Rev. Keith Yawn officiating.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
