Mrs. Mary Kornegay, 87

Graveside services for Mrs. Mary Kornegay, 87, who died June 19 at the Courtyards of Orlando in Orlando, Fla., were held June 27 at Morgan Chapel Church Cemetery in Graham.
Mary was born in Hazlehurst May 14, 1933 and spent years in New York before moving to Florida. She was one of 13 children.
She was preceded in death by her parents Willie Sanders and Matilda Henry, husband, James (Jay) Kornegay, granddaughter, Cynthia Kornegay, sisters, Lola McDuffie, Ophelia Brody,
Elizabeth Conaway, and Earleen Sanders and brothers, J.T. Henry, Clarance Henry, Thomas Henry, Roberty Henry, Early Sanders, Wilbert Sanders, and Mitchell Lee Sanders.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary L. “Penny” (Thomas) Campbell, DeLand, Fla.; grandson Ingraham (Tiffany) Ibrahim, Orlando, Fla.; grandsons Justin (JT) Ibrahim, Elijah (Eli) Ibrahim, and Ayden (AA) Ibrahim, all of Orlando, Fla.; brother Charles Sanders of Hazlehurst; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces and nephews; and friends and family that will always remember her as “Santa Claus.”
