Mr. Steve Mathis, 69

Mr. Steve Mathis, 69, of Hazlehurst, died June 5 at his residence.
Mr. Mathis was born in Wheeler County to the late Ira Green Mathis and the late Juanita Ora Watson Mathis.
Steve was retired from Williams Brothers Trucking and formerly a member of Hazlehurst Church of God.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Pat Mathis and brother, Larry Mathis.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Angie and Bobby Taylor of Hazlehurst and Tonya and Brad Stone of Hazlehurst; grandchildren, Cassandra Dukes (Daniel), Ty Taylor, Andria Stone and Brandon Stone; great grandchildren, Zaylee Dukes and Fynnlee Dukes; nephew, Nyle Ursrey; great-nephews, Blayne Ursrey and Evan Ursrey; several cousins.
Services were held June 10 at Hazlehurst Church of God with the Rev. John Nunes officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Steve can be made to the family, 48 Elton Street, Hazlehurst.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
