Vets Present Scholarships

The annual presentation of the Jeff Davis County Veterans Association’s scholarships took place at Veterans Square Park in Hazlehurst Friday. Each winner’s certificate of appreciation, along with a check for $1,000, was awarded to Colby Marchant and Lexie Crosby, both seniors in Jeff Davis High’s class of 2020.
Carroll Walker, chairman of the scholarship committee, said he and other veterans appreciate the many applications received this year. He added that the process of selecting only two recipients was difficult because all the seniors’ academics and accomplishments were astounding.
The Veterans Association congratulates Marchant and Crosby and the entire Class of 2020 and extends best wishes for the future.
