Mr. Timothy Ricky Watkins, 60
Mr. Timothy Ricky Watkins, 60, of Mershon, passed away May 14 at his residence.
Born in Alma Oct. 18, 1959, he lived in Pierce County all of his life. Mr. Watkins was a Patterson High School graduate and worked in trucking for a few years before going to work as a backhoe operator for Lowman Septic Tank where he worked until his health began to decline. He was a hard working man and absolutely loved his job but after being diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and enduring all the problems that went with it he was forced to give up working. He loved being with family and friends and enjoyed fishing when he would get the chance. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was a son of the late Eulis and Julia Mildred Wilkins Watkins. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Joyce Watkins and Kathy Watkins; and brother, Ronnie Watkins.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Angela Denise “Angie’ Nester Watkins of Mershon; daughters, Christina Watkins of Offerman and Elizabeth Watkins of Brunswick; brothers, Jerry Watkins of Mershon, Donnie (Carol) Watkins of Mershon, David (Audrey “Doodle”) Watkins of Blackshear, and Randy (Donna) Watkins of Mershon; in-laws, Jimmy and Mary Nester of Hazlehurst; numerous grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Mr. Watkins’ wishes were to be cremated. His family has chosen to celebrate his life when it is safe for all his family and friends to gather.
