Mr. Jerry Charles Curran, 72

Mr. Jerry Charles Curran, 72, of Lumber City, died  March 20 at Community Hospice in Vidalia.
Mr. Curran was born Feb. 29, 1948, in Telfair County. He was a retired veteran of the United States Army serving in the Vietnam Conflict receiving these medals, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device 1960, Expert (M14 M60), Marksman (M16), Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal (1 awd). He was charter member of Douglas Singles Club and a member of Lumber City Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanette Thompson, son, Scott “Scotty Boy” Curran and sister, Ann Curran Varnadoe.
Survivors include beloved friends, Steve and Audrey Walters and Jimmy and Heather Walters all of Lumber City; three nieces, Regina Dunlap, Sharon Williams and Crystal Casievich.
Graveside services were held March 24 at Riverside Cemetery with military honors and Terry Brown officiating.
Music was rendered by Janice Brown and Paulette Brown.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
