Rev. Thomas Linton Stephens Sr., 68
The Rev. Thomas Linton Stephens Sr., 68, of Hazlehurst, died Feb. 19 at Jeff Davis Hospital.
Mr. Stephens was born July 9, 1951, in Appling County to the late Benjamin (Benny) Stephens and the late Fannie Kicklighter Stephens. He was a retired Baptist pastor, contractor and a member of Southside Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Frank Stephens, Eugene Stephens, Henry Stephens, Cordell Stephens and Ameila Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Faulkner Stephens of Hazlehurst; sons, Thomas Linton Stephens Jr. of Nahunta and James Allen Stephens of Graham; sisters, Wynell Yawn of Roanoke, Ala., Dorothy Dyal of Statesboro and Geneva Hutchinson of Baxley; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Feb. 22 at Southside Baptist Church with Dr. Ben Glossen officiating. Interment followed in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were all family and friends in attendance.
Active pallbearers were Thomas Linton Stephens Jr., James Allen Stephens, Jarvis Marchant, Chad Clark, Josh Clark and Thomas Linton Stephens III.
Music was rendered by Jeni Clark, Hal Cox, Jeffery Spell and Chris Merritt.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
