Mrs. Penny McLendon Tillman, 56

Mrs. Penny McLendon Tillman, 56, of Hahira went home to be with her Savior Jan. 14 at her home.
She was born in Norfolk, Va., on June 17, 1963, and had lived in Hazlehurst before moving to Valdosta many years ago. Penny was a member of Hahira First Baptist Church and a registered nurse with Pearlman Cancer Center at South Georgia Medical Center. She was a certified oncology nurse and loved taking care of her patients. Penny graduated from Jeff Davis High School in 1981 and from Valdosta State College in 1985 with her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
Survivors include her husband, Troy S. Tillman of Hahira; son, Tyler Tillman of Hahira; parents, William A. and Claire McLendon, brother Mark McLendon, niece, Ashley McLendon, nephew, Chace McLendon, all of Hazlehurst; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Tommy and Barbara Tillman of Freeport, Fla., Michelle and Matt Sheffer of Evans, Alan and Patti Tillman of Thomson; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Roscoe and Essie Mae Floyd, Roy and Verna Freeman, and parents-in-law, Tom and Betty Tillman.
Services were held Jan. 18 at Hahira First Baptist Church with the Rev. David Gordon officiating. Graveside services were held at Graham United Methodist Church Cemetery in Graham.
