Mr. Larry Howe Smith, 81, of Hazlehurst, died Jan. 9 at his residence.
Mr. Smith was born July 5, 1938, in Coffee County to the late Ashley Smith and the late Mae Dell Howe Smith. He was a retired truck driver with Amoco Fabrics and a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Lonnie Allen Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Stone Smith of Hazlehurst; sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Cherie Smith of Hazlehurst, Tim and Sheila Smith of Lumber City, and Ashley Smith of Henderson, Nev.; stepsons and daughters-in-law, Hartley and Carole Walker of Griffin and Bryan and Tina Walker of Cleveland, Tenn.; sisters Betty Hurley (Jerry) of Enterprise, Ala., and Virginia Estridge of Savannah; brother, Seaborn Smith (Sheila) of Alma; grandchildren, Lyle Smith, Allison Smith, Ivey Grace Smith, Parker Smith, Haley Smith, Heather Smith, Alexis Walker, Sara Walker, Hannah Walker, Bella Walker and Lucas Walker; nieces and nephews.
Services were held Jan. 12 in the chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with the Rev. Brad Waters officiating. Interment followed in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were Cindy Hulett, Jimmy and Diane Boatright, Lonnie and Sandra Moody, Kevin and Christa Taylor, Johnny and Jeanette Burkett, Bobby and Flora Mosley, Chester Sellers, Amoco drivers, and Ladies Four Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst.
Active pallbearers were Kevin Taylor, Jerry Hurley, Johnny Faulk, Paul Brewer, Lyle Smith, Glynn Rea, Jerry Davis, and Stanley Land.
Music was rendered by granddaughters, Allison Smith and Alexis Walker.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
