Mrs. Margaret Merritt Dennis, 82

Services for Mrs. Margaret Merritt Dennis, 82, of Hazlehurst, who died Jan. 6, will be held Jan. 9 at 11 a.m. in Wainwright-Parlor Funeral Home Chapel.
The Rev. Van McCall will officiate with burial in Palms Memorial Garden.
Mrs. Dennis was born April 3, 1937 in Coffee County to the late James Merritt and the late Mary Smith Merritt. She was retired from Wal-Mart Distribution and was a member of Macedonia Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Dennis, son, Daniel Lott Atkinson Jr., and her brother, Roger Merritt.
Survivors include her daughters, Janice Powell of Lumber City and Bernice Atkinson Rojas of Hazlehurst; sons and daughter-in-law, Ladon Powell of Casper, WY; Charles and Diane Powell of Hazlehurst and Roy Powell of Hazlehurst; sisters, Mary Ann Gibbs and Betty Creamer; brothers, James Grady Merritt, Billy Eugene Merritt and Russell Merritt; 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers are her grandsons, Jonathan Powell, Andy Powell, Keaton Corbitt, William Corbitt, Gary Dunn, Charlie Powell, and Nathan Powell.
Musical selections will be by Angie McCall.
Wainwright-Parlor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
