Leaders to attend Okefenokee Occasion
Local leaders will make their annual trip to Atlanta during the first week of the 2020 legislative session. If you would like to attend, there are five spots available with local leaders. The visit includes a legislative dinner the evening Jan. 14 and the Okefenokee Occasion the evening of Jan. 15.
The annual event provides officials with an opportunity for one on one talks with legislators about legislation under consideration and special projects that affect the local community.
Attending the events allows local leaders an opportune time to share our community’s issues with the hopes the legislators will keep them as a top priority while in session.
The Okefenokee Occasion committee consists of members from 17 counties of the Southeast Georgia Regional Commission which include Appling, Atkinson, Ben Hill, Berrien, Brantley, Brooks, Charlton, Clinch, Coffee, Cook, Jeff Davis, Lanier, Pierce, Tift, Turner, Ware, and Wayne counties.
If interested in attending, contact Andrea Taylor at ataylor@jeffdavisjda.com or call 912-327-0830.
