Mrs. Janie Carter Ray, 67

Mrs. Janie Carter Ray, 67, of Hazlehurst, died Oct. 24 at her residence.
Mrs. Ray was born Aug. 10, 1952, in Jeff Davis County to the late Ira Carter and the late Lucille Duncan Carter.
She was retired from Hazlehurst Mills and a retired Registered Nurse from Appling Healthcare. She is preceded in death by her siblings, James Carter, Haven Gehlken, Elton “Blue” Carter, Robert Carter and Nelda Carter.
Survivors include daughters, Crystal Selina Cook (Glenn) and Freedom Angelita Ray; sons, Danny Earl Ray (Tonia) and Dusty Cruz Villalba (Jessica); sister, Vonnie Nell Carter Copeland; brother, Larry (Bo-Pete) Carter (Belinda); nine grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were held Oct. 26 in the chapel of Wainright Parlor Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Patrick officiating.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
